Spanish-American War Records

Spanish-American War service records and information are often difficult to come by. Lasting only six months, the war was one of the shortest of American conflicts. Some of the resources on this page are subscription sites, while others are free. Many will provide you specific records, and others only index information.

Many Spanish-American War Pension Files are still maintained by the Department of Veterans Affairs rather than the National Archives. This is because many of the veterans (or their surviving widows) survived well into the 20th century, and these records are covered by the Privacy Act. We specialize in United States Military Records and can assist you in obtaining the proper records, including Military Service Records and Pension Records. Request a FREE ESTIMATE today!

Don't forget that individual States and some counties also maintain records of veterans of various wars and conflicts. Click to go to the State Resource page.
